Ya know I thought Jack in the box went out of business in the 70's. They all turned to Taco Bell or somethign in northeast... then one day a few years ago I saw a credit report with employer as Jack in the box, called the number and they answered and I started freaking out. Kind of like when I saw a sign at a fair in florida that said "panzaratti" and started freaking out, the guy looked at me and said what? I pointed to the sign and he said he bought the trailer in NJ and didn't know anything about it. It's a pizza turnover, kinda like a strombolo but with the sauce mixed in already, looks like a fried football, found one in atlantic city about 7 years ago but not seen any, they were available in philly pizza places after shows if you knew where to find them in little italy.

I know exactly what you are talking about: In CA they had these things called "gondalinis" (sp?) which were close to what you describe, a sorta calzone kind of turnover, but much better depending on what was in them...

Absolutely amazing.
